Prince Caspian update from http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/736/736247p1.html:

September 28, 2006 - The star search is on for the actor who will headline The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. Preliminary auditions have been held in Britain, with more to follow, reports NarniaWeb.com; director Andrew Adamson will probably fly over to the UK in October to assist in the final selection.

The casting department is also seeking a large number of extras of Spanish or Mediterranean descent for the film — most likely, to play the Telmarines who occupy Narnia during the time the story takes place. According to the book, the men of Telmar had pirates as their ancestors — swarthy buccaneers who stumbled through a remote portal from our world to Narnia.

Both male and female hopefuls can actually apply online at the StarsInMyEyes.tv website -- a small registration fee is involved.

On the book side of things, The Return to Narnia: The Rescue of Prince Caspian by Harper-Collins is arriving in book stores this week. It's actually an illustrated retelling of Prince Caspian — probably worth a look and even a place on the shelf if you're a fan of Lewis's magical world.

you all should know that, ya?
Here's some Trivia about Narnia! from www.imdb.com

  • Walden has optioned the entire seven-part "Chronicles of Narnia" fantasy book series for film development.

  • The movie had two fake working titles: "The Hundred Year Winter" and "Paravel." Signs in Auckland that directed extras and crew to the sets had "Paravel" written on them.

  • The Director, Andrew Adamson, who himself is from West Auckland, along with some of his production crew, were given a traditional Maori welcome in a meeting house near the West Auckland studios. This was done as a sign of respect to the native people of West Auckland, whose lands were used for filming locations.

  • When placing ads in "The New Zealand Herald" for extras, the first call was put out for people under five feet and over six feet four. Calls for extras were made in New Zealand's main cities of Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch over a period of two weeks. Later calls were for moderately tall males and females.

  • The makers asked for permission to bring in twelve reindeer to New Zealand to pull the Ice Queen's sled. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry denied, citing the potentially deadly Q fever from which the North American reindeer population suffers as the reason. However, ten wolves were allowed in for filming in Auckland.

  • Tilda Swinton hadn't read the book prior to filming.

  • Co-producer Douglas Gresham is the stepson of C.S. Lewis, author of the novel upon which the film is based.

  • Before his death C.S Lewis did sold the rights for the entire series for adaptation. At that time, he absolutely despised T.V adaptations of his books believing that it was non-realistic (actors had to wear suits to play non-human characters). It was only after seeing a demo reel of C.G creatures and the advancement of technology that Lewis's stepson/co-producer Douglas Gresham gave the approval for a film adaptation.

  • Because Skandar Keynes wasn't there at the time that they were filming the scene where Edmund follows Lucy into the wardrobe, Anna Popplewell wore his costume from the waist down and did the scene for him.

  • When the Pevensies are at the train station, Peter looks at a soldier. That soldier is played by Jaxin Hall, the runner-up who auditioned for the part of Peter and lost to William Moseley.

  • Georgie Henley's reaction to Mr. Tumnus at the lamppost is genuine. She had not seen her cast mate James McAvoy in his costume before the scene was filmed, so her screams and reaction were real. Georgie's first reaction to the snowy world of Narnia is also genuine--she was carried into the set blindfolded to make her first entrance, and her wide-eyed, delighted reactions to it all are entirely her own.

  • The motive power for the Pevensies' evacuation train was GWR 7802 Bradley Manor, one of the former Great Western Railway's Manor-class steam locomotives. Nine out of the thirty Manor-class locomotives built survive today.

  • No real lions were used for the film, simply because Andrew Adamson wanted a moment where Georgie Henley could reach out and touch Aslan.

  • The movie was mostly shot in chronological order. The final scene where the Pevensie's fall out of the wardrobe was shot before all the outdoor shots so the kids would still be pale and look like they had in the beginning of the film.

  • The historical artifact that Mrs. MacReady warns them not to touch is the bust of Dante Alighieri.

  • Brian Cox was originally set to voice Aslan.

  • When the adults' swearing got out of hand on the set, Georgie Henley (Lucy) set up a swear bucket. James McAvoy was supposedly the worst offender.

  • Rachael Henley, who plays the grown-up Lucy in the hunting scene near the end of the film, is actually the older sister of Georgie Henley, who plays the young Lucy throughout the rest of the movie.

  • EASTER EGG: On disc 2, on the menu for Evolution of an Epic, there's a director's chair on the left-hand side of the menu. Pointing your remote on it will cause a little red symbol to appear. Click on the symbol, and it takes you to a short featurette showing how much Turkish delight Skandar Keynes had to eat.

  • Several birds had made nests within the filming studio, and several scenes had to be filmed twice due to the noise these birds were making. One of these bird was filmed using the green screen as the bird who leads the children from Tumnus's house to the Beavers.

  • The wolves that destroyed the Beavers' home were mostly real animals with one or two CGI ones added in, although their tails had to be digitally removed and re-added. Their tails kept wagging while filming the scene, making them seem less vicious.

  • The CGI on Mr. Tumnus was from his waist down--his goat legs and hooves. His ears were controlled by remote control and a fake nose along with a lot of hair was attached.

  • When Lucy meets Mr. Tumnus the faun, he plays music for her on a funny-looking Narnian instrument--the actual sound heard is produced by the duduk (doudouk, dudka, düdük), an ancient wind instrument thought to be of Caucasian origin. The instrument that Mr. Tumnus uses on set is actually a figment of the prop department's imagination.

  • Each design carved into the wardrobe signify an important event that occurred in the book "The Magician's Nephew".

  • Anna Popplewell is afraid of mice, so her scenes involving mice had to be shot with her double.

  • When Mr. Tumnus refers to Lucy as a "Daughter of Eve", a confused Lucy responds by telling him that her mother's name is Helen. The mother of Georgie Henley, who plays Lucy, is actually named Helen.

  • The German planes seen at the beginning of the film were HE-111 Bombers.

  • During filming, William Moseley (Peter) kept accidentally hitting Georgie Henley (Lucy) with his sword handle and making her trip when he ran too quickly.

  • In scenes where the children had to react or talk to CG characters, Andrew Adamson, the director, and Alina Phelan, his assistant, would provide the voices for those non-existing characters, to make it easier for the kids to respond to someone who really isn't there.

  • Because of how much Skandar's voice changed during filming, some of his voice track had to be re-looped by his sister.

  • The role of Edmund was cast last of the four children. That helped making his character a bit detached to his siblings, since the other three actors had been together in a workshop for almost a month by the time Skandar got the part.

  • There are three versions of Peter's sword: steel, aluminum, and rubber. William Moseley preferred working with the aluminum swords for the fighting scenes because they were a lot lighter and "they didn't bounce like the rubber swords."

READ THIS ENTRY!

Hey there, lots of news of William! You all have probably seen or heard about the charity 10km run William participated in during July, but here is the info about it and pictures! He came in 7th-- took him 45 minutes!  I thought it was really cool he was in this! I mean I don't really think about William as being a "normal teen" but come on he's got to be at least somewhat "normal". Right??

The Forest Fun Run breaks records

On Sunday 16th July Athletes of all abilities united to join Narnia star William Moseley by putting their best foot forward for the charity. Toddlers to experienced marathon runners all took part in our annual Forest Fun Run at Heywood Leisure Centre in Cinderford.

13 year old American fan Eliza Gilbert flew in from Florida,USA to meet and run with William Moseley in the Pied Piper 10km challenge. Eliza arrived to late to run with William who finished a very respectable 7th in a time of 44 minutes. Eliza and other fans met him after the race to sign autographs before Eliza had some quality time with William before she returned to London to complete her holiday.

Hey everybody! How's it going??? I can't believe it's almost AUGUST already!!! Time goes so fast doesn't it? Hey that's good and bad-- less time until Prince Caspian right?? Omigosh William is gonna look so OLD in it. Not like OLD, but a lot older, huh? He's 19! Golley! How old is Anna? Is she 17? I think so. Georgie is 11. Skandar is 14 oh my gosh he is a couple months younger than me!! Wow! 1991 is a good year, right? :) Wow and Skandar's gonna have a deep voice in this one too  Out of all the 4, Anna's had the most movie experience. Then the rest of them have about the same. Hey did you all know Georgie is filming in another show-- Jane Eyre? She is young Jane. Awesome!

Well I just wanted to say hello before I go off on my trip-- Oh yeah I forgot to say on here I am going to PA on Saturday- I'm so excited! I hope you all have an awesome rest of July! Leave me comments!
